Cooperativa Sociale Interculturando was born in 2001, bringing together different professional practices (training, researchers, psychologists, educators, mediators, social workers, youth workers ...), active in various contexts of action (the third sector, public administration, trade unions ...), but always in direct contact with immigrant populations. The Cooperative members live and work in different regions of Italy (mainly northern) and come from different social, cultural and geographical contexts (Italy, Somalia, Morocco, Senegal, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, ...).
Interculturando is an organization that combines different practices in intercultural education and social intervention to promote social cohesion in multiethnic contexts. Services (support for job search, mediation, social secretariat, animation intercultural, ...) and courses are offered in different regional contexts, from Milan to Bergamo, Novara, Genoa, Piacenza to Rimini, Rome and Naples.
Several distinctive features characterize Interculturando:
• Co-management with foreigners;
• Experience on the field;
• Synergies with local authorities and private social welfare
• Understanding of current changes in immigration (changeable phenomena)
Immigrant populations which we work with are generally families of recent immigrants in particular, women and children and young people seeking their first job. Our training is mainly adressed to social workers such as teachers, doctors, mediators, "facilitators", advisors.
In the present partnership, we offer our expertise in social mediation and our experience in adopting different tools to specific social contexts.
