Within the project "Soft Skills - Empowered Parents", partners shared existing educational programs in the fields of soft skills trainings and parent education (focusing on leadership, coaching, emotional intelligence, Parenting-by-Connection, Sustainable Parenting), and examined different contexts in which parent education was delivered, with the aim of adopting existing tools to the needs and contexts of parents involved with partner organisations.
The partnership, that consists partners from Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, France, Italy, Czech Republic and the UK, was made up of both for-profit training companies as well as NGOs working either in the field of parent education, or in general supporting families also by providing educational activities for them.
Partners had international meetings where they offered to their learners and staff members
1) training courses in specific approaches and skills
2) study visits to have more insight into the specific challenges of parenting today in different social contexts
3) working meetings to adopt existing tools and methodology to the needs and context of parenting.
Partners also had local activities to implement what they learnt from each other, and used the acquired tools to support each other in this process. Moreover, the sharing of existing educational programs and approaches also happened via web seminars offered for the staff and the local target audience of the partners.
The project facilitated the mutual transfer of knowledge and methodology between the non-profit and for-profit sector, and also addressed the question of what strategies can be developed to make parent education activities financially sustainable and more widely available.
